Smithfield and Moses Brown are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Sentinels are taking a road trip to square off against the Quakers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Smithfield lost 12-2 to La Salle Academy on Thursday. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smithfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Speakman, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Luke Dwyer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moses Brown). Everything went their way against St. Raphael Academy on Friday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Quakers.

Will Haggerty and Dustin Boudreau did most of the damage at the plate: Haggerty scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Boudreau scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Winslow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Moses Brown's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Smithfield, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Smithfield came up short against Moses Brown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Sentinels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
