Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Gets the Win

Coachella Valley won the last time they faced Palo Verde Valley, and Israel Garcia did his part to make sure it happened again. The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs walked away with a 67-57 victory over the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets on Thursday thanks in part to Garcia, who went 9 of 17 from beyond the arc on his way to 40 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

When it comes to explaining why Palo Verde Valley lost, don't look at Zaraivion Crowe. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. The contest was Crowe's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasias Green, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Coachella Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Palo Verde Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coachella Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-58 defeat against Buena on the 26th. As for Palo Verde Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-37 victory against Xavier Prep on the 27th.
