Basketball Game Preview: Southwestern Wildcats vs. Fennimore Golden Eagles

Southwestern is 2-8 against Fennimore since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Southwestern Wildcats will head out to face off against the Fennimore Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Fennimore took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southwestern, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Southwestern turned things around against Boscobel on Thursday. They snuck past the Bulldogs with a 49-43 win.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-23, which was the final score in Fennimore's tilt against Cuba City on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Cubans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Southwestern's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Fennimore, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Things could have been worse for Southwestern, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-41 loss to Fennimore in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Southwestern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
