Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Citrus Hill's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Citrus Hill can now relate to. The game between the Citrus Hill Hawks and the California Condors didn't end well, with the Citrus Hill Hawks falling 63-47. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Citrus Hill still got an impressive performance from Jerren White, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. White has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 35 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Marta, who posted four points and five boards.

California got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aham Nwosu out in front who shot 62% from the field to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. Kenny Renfrow was another key player, going 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points.

Citrus Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 19-13. As for California, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fresno Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Citrus Hill likes a good challenge. As for California, they will venture away from home to face off against Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California will be up against Fairfax's rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.81 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
