Softball Recap: Butler Takes a Loss

If Butler was riding high fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Rocky River last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Butler Bulldogs fell 12-7 to the Charlotte Catholic Cougars on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cherie Carter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Butler's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Charlotte Catholic, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Butler is taking a road trip to square off against Myers Park at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte Catholic, they will face off against East Mecklenburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
