Basketball Recap: Desert Chapel Gets the Win

On Monday, the Desert Chapel Eagles beat the Desert Mirage RAMS 46-33. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Desert Chapel found their leader in freshman Jayvon Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 26 rebounds. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Felix Ochoa was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

When it comes to explaining why Desert Mirage lost, don't look at Edy Espinoza. Despite the final result, he posted ten points along with six boards and six steals. Espinoza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Martinez, who put up six points and three steals.

Desert Chapel's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Desert Mirage, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Desert Chapel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-13 victory against West Shores on the 10th. As for Desert Mirage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-21 loss against Rancho Mirage on the 11th.
