Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Gainesville's Fifth in Last Six Outings + How To Watch

Gainesville hadn't done well against North Gwinnett recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Red Elephants came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Red Elephants, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gainesville was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 26-28, 25-11.

Among those leading the charge was Pren McGarvey, who had 16 digs. Taylor Reid was another key player, getting 11 kills.

Gainesville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for North Gwinnett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Gainesville and Milton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. As for North Gwinnett, they will head out to face off against Creekview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
