Basketball Game Preview: Xavier Saints vs. Washington Warriors

The Xavier Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the Washington Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Xavier easily dispatched Jefferson on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Xavier fell just short of Waterloo West by a score of 61-58 on Tuesday. The loss was the Saints' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their match against Linn-Mar on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Washington was outmatched by Linn-Mar and fell 81-48. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Washington's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Xavier, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Xavier came up short against Washington when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 56-51. Can Xavier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
