Baseball Recap: Ponitz Career Tech Comes Up Short

Ponitz Career Tech extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 14-3 to the Belmont Bison. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Panthers of the 6-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Belmont, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average this season.

For Belmont's part, the team relied heavily on Carter Blankenship, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was Blankenship's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Josh Lucas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

While Ponitz Career Tech had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
