Basketball Recap: Depaul College Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Maliah Wood and Lucia Trautman

DePaul College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mighty Macs earlier this season, when they won 56-48.

DePaul College Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lucia Trautman, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 10 points, and Maliah Wood, who posted seven points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wood a new career-high in points. Kaitlin Totaro was another key player, putting up two points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, DePaul College Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Mother McAuley was led to victory by Delia Sullivan and Quinn Arundel. Sullivan went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points, while Arundel earned 19 points.

DePaul College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Mother McAuley, their victory bumped their record up to 17-12.

Looking ahead, DePaul College Prep will venture away from home to challenge Prosser at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th. DePaul College Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. Mother McAuley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
