Volleyball Recap: Conant Comes Up Short

Conant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lake Zurich Bears. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Bears when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Lake Zurich to victory were Malia McManus and Emme Lawrence. McManus had five digs and five aces, while Lawrence had four aces. That's the most aces Lawrence has posted over her last eight contests.

Conant's loss dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Lake Zurich, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Conant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Libertyville on the 17th. As for Lake Zurich, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against DeKalb on the 17th.
