Granite Baptist Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Independent Baptist Academy Kings by a score of 61-51. For the Guardians, this counts as revenge for the 72-22 victory the Kings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March.

Granite Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Groves, who went 8-for-17 en route to 22 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Carter Moody, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Independent Baptist Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Granite Baptist Academy is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Woodlawn Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
