Softball Recap: Becton Wins Going Away Against Rutherford

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Becton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Rutherford Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Becton and bumps their season record up to 11-9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Rutherford, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7-1.

Looking ahead, Becton will take on Hanover Park on Wednesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Rutherford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
