            Baseball Recap: Sherrard Tigers vs. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            While Sherrard's  victory against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Spartans  8-6. The  win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

 Zach Knox tossed a big game,   striking out six batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March.
 On the hitting side,  Eli Matson was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Carter Brown, who  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
Sherrard's record is now 13-6. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], their loss was  their sixth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 11-11.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sherrard will welcome Monmouth-Roseville  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.46  runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], they will be playing at home against Monmouth United  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Red Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7  runs per game  this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
