Katy has gone 9-1 against Katy Taylor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Katy challenged Cinco Ranch on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars an 11-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups in a row.

Meanwhile, Katy Taylor put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Seven Lakes as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Katy Taylor got a massive performance out of Alyssa Sharrock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Lerma, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Sharrock wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Katy Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Katy pushed their record up to 26-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Katy Taylor, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Katy was able to grind out a solid win over Katy Taylor in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
