Baseball Game Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Sumrall Bobcats

For the second straight game, Purvis will face off against Sumrall. The Tornadoes will take on the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Purvis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Sumrall's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Purvis heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They fell 6-3 to Sumrall. The Tornadoes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

For Sumrall's part, Cooper McCoy looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McCoy has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Tucker Barrett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Purvis' loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Sumrall, their victory bumped their record up to 27-5.
