Softball Game Preview: Tuckahoe Tigers vs. Bloomfield Bombers

The Tuckahoe Tigers will face off against the Bloomfield Bombers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Tuckahoe sitting on nine straight victories and Bloomfield on 16.

Tuckahoe is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Ticonderoga get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Deposit-Hancock.

Ashlyn Wright made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Wright wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Calla McCombs, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Tuckahoe's record is now 19-4. As for Bloomfield, their record now sits at 23-1.
