Baseball Recap: Portsmouth Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Mascenic Regional hit Portsmouth Christian Academy with a five-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 11-1 to the Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.

Portsmouth Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Leland, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Grady Howe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Portsmouth Christian Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Mascenic Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Portsmouth Christian Academy and Mascenic Regional will both be playing Concord Christian the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Kingsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
