The Hazelwood East Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hazelwood East will be strutting in after a win while STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Hazelwood East got the win against Normandy by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won eight in a row.

One reason for the win was Hazelwood East's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-3, 25-2.

Meanwhile, STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley came up short against Affton on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hazelwood East's win bumped their record up to 12-8-1. As for STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Hazelwood East skirted past STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley 3-2 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
