Basketball Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Loss

Martin Luther lost against Varsity Opponent back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Martin Luther Cougars were dealt a 92-64 loss at the hands of Varsity Opponent.

Martin Luther's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kris Skibola, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points. Skibola's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Trail, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Martin Luther's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Martin Luther will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maspeth at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-42 loss against Faith Christian on the 16th.
