Softball Recap: Lennox Orioles vs. Flandreau Fliers

There's no place like home for Lennox, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Flandreau Fliers on Tuesday as the Lennox Orioles made off with a 16-5 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Lennox needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Hayley Hahn tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Lennox got a massive performance out of Taylor Ragle, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Ragle is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagen Sturm, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

On Flandreau's side, Sadie Lott made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

Lennox's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Flandreau, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Lennox will head out on the road to take on Dell Rapids at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dell Rapids will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lennox surely won't give up without a fight. As for Flandreau, they will be playing at home against Tea at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Flandreau is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
