Football Game Preview: Ottumwa Bulldogs vs. Northwest Wolves

The Ottumwa Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Northwest Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ottumwa has given up an average of 27.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Ottumwa was beaten by Southeast Polk 70-6. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Rams are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Northwest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 63-6 victory over Des Moines East. That looming 63-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolves yet this season.

Ottumwa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Northwest, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Ottumwa took a serious blow against Northwest when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 65-13. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
