Football Recap: Waco Lions vs. Ellison Eagles

Friday just wasn't the day for Waco's offense. They took a blow against the Ellison Eagles on Friday, falling 40-0. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Eagles are ranked 344th).

Waco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hector Topete, Isaiah Levingston, and Oshawn Neal picked up one apiece. Waco is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. As for Ellison, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Waco will take on University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University is coming into the contest with four straight victories at home, so Waco will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Ellison, they will face off against Brenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brenham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Ellison likes a good challenge.
