Soccer Recap: Long Comes Up Short

Long lost to New Brockton back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rebels came up short against the Gamecocks, falling 4-1. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no goals scored by either team from that point forward.

Long has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. New Brockton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-3.

Long didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 7-1 defeat against Andalusia on the 26th. As for New Brockton, they will host Pike County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give New Brockton their first taste of in-conference action this season.
