Baseball Recap: Port Chester Comes Up Short

Port Chester had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it seven. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Rochelle Huguenots. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bryan Sachs spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Port Chester saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexander Alvarez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for New Rochelle, their record now sits at 5-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On New Rochelle's side, the team relied heavily on Ryder Proudian, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Brayden Casas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As of now, neither Port Chester nor New Rochelle have any future games scheduled.
