Basketball Recap: Murray Drops Season-High Score on Park City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Murray). They were the clear victor by an 84-62 margin over the Park City Miners on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Spartans have posted since December 17, 2024.

Murray was led to victory by Damani Wilkerson and Ethan Davies. Wilkerson went 12 for 18 en route to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Davies dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds gave Davies a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Nelson, who posted nine points along with seven assists and six boards.

Murray was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in five consecutive matchups.

Park City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Michael Zagin, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points. Luke Rice was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 12 points.

Murray now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Park City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Murray will welcome Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Murray's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Park City, they will host Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Park City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
