Softball Preview: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

After two games on the road, Cheyenne is heading back home. They will take on the Moapa Valley Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne and Moapa Valley are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.

They beat Del Sol by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-0. Winning may never get old, but Moapa Valley sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Kylie Neil made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also didn't allow any walks). Neil has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Neil was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Saphire Holm looked comfortable as she tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (she also didn't allow any walks).

Back at the plate, Raegan Stankoski was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last seven games she's played. Myka Martinsen was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.
