Basketball Game Preview: Winlock Cardinals vs. Onalaska Loggers

Winlock and Onalaska are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Winlock Cardinals will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Onalaska Loggers at 7:00 p.m. Winlock is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Winlock lost 60-38 to Toledo on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Indians are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Onalaska, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Morton/White Pass 67-50 on Thursday.

Onalaska's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Winlock, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Winlock won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, slipping by Onalaska 49-48. Will Winlock repeat their success, or does Onalaska have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
