Baseball Recap: Steele Canyon's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Steele Canyon came into Monday's match having lost 24 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against San Ysidro on Monday by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for Steele Canyon, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hunter Haase spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julian Cervantes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Gavin Caha also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
