Basketball Game Preview: Giltner Hornets vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders

Giltner hasn't had much luck against Lawrence-Nelson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Giltner Hornets will be playing at home against the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Giltner is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Blue Hill 74-33.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Blaydon White, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Cady, who had two points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The game between them and McCool Junction didn't end well, with Lawrence-Nelson falling 63-46. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 17-13 in the first quarter.

Giltner will have to contain Sawyer Cox as he made an impact in Lawrence-Nelson's last game. He went 8 of 16 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Lawrence-Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Giltner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
