Basketball Game Preview: Parkdale Panthers vs. Crossland Cavaliers

The Parkdale Panthers will head out to challenge the Crossland Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Parkdale came up short against Suitland and fell 64-52. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tavonte Martin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Alusine Mansaray was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Parkdale was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Crossland's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 54-33 to Oxon Hill. The match marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Crossland's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Parkdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Parkdale couldn't quite finish off Crossland in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 51-49. Can Parkdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
