Basketball Game Preview: New Bloomfield Wildcats vs. South Callaway Bulldogs

New Bloomfield is 1-9 against South Callaway since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The New Bloomfield Wildcats will take on the South Callaway Bulldogs in a tournament on Monday. New Bloomfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully South Callaway likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, New Bloomfield was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Russellville. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 21-10 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, New Bloomfield had strong showings from Alex Massman, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight blocks and five rebounds, and Jacob Fuhriman, who went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and five assists. Fuhriman's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Trenton Boessen was another key player, going 5 of 7 en route to 10 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Callaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They secured a 69-65 W over Tipton on Friday.

South Callaway's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for New Bloomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

New Bloomfield took a serious blow against South Callaway in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 76-45. Can New Bloomfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
