Preview: Shaler Area Titans vs. Fox Chapel Foxes
The Shaler Area Titans will be playing at home against the Fox Chapel Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaler Area will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Armstrong scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Shaler Area still came out on top. Shaler Area walked away with a 73-62 win over Armstrong. Given Shaler Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Armstrong is ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fox Chapel aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to five. They snuck past Woodland Hills with a 49-44 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fox Chapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Kaiser, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Siegel, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Shaler Area's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Fox Chapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Shaler Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Fox Chapel in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 60-50. Does Shaler Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fox Chapel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
