Baseball Game Preview: Stoughton Vikings vs. Edgewood Crusaders

For the second straight game, Stoughton will face off against Edgewood. The Vikings will face off against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Stoughton has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Stoughton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Edgewood on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to the Crusaders. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Stoughton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Pietruszynski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Pietruszynski is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Edgewood and bumps their season record up to 11-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Stoughton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
