Volleyball Recap: Hinsdale Central Comes Up Short

Hinsdale Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glenbard North Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Their offense was headlined by Luke Scott and Dane Beringer, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Harry Hughes and his 26 assists. Ken Reodica controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Glenbard North, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Hinsdale Central will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Downers Grove North at 5:30 p.m. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glenbard North, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wheaton North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
