Oconomowoc has gone a perfect 5-0 against Waukesha South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Raccoons will head out to take on the Blackshirts at 4:30 p.m. Oconomowoc is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Oconomowoc was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past Waukesha West 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raccoons have posted since May 5th.
Kelsey Yambor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Macy Brazelton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten matches.
Meanwhile, Waukesha South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Arrowhead, falling 19-1.
Alyson Staley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Oconomowoc's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Waukesha South, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.
Waukesha South's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oconomowoc has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Waukesha South, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Oconomowoc's sizable advantage in that area, the Blackshirts will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oconomowoc took their win against Waukesha South in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 20-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raccoons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
