Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Custer County). They breezed by the La Veta Redhawks to the tune of 64-24 on Saturday. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redhawks, too.

La Veta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Musgrave, who posted six points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lukas Ozzello, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Custer County and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for La Veta, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Custer County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sanford on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, La Veta and Manzanola will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. La Veta is facing Manzanola at the right time seeing as Manzanola is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
