Basketball Recap: Start Comes Up Short

Start lost against Detroit Country Day back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Start Spartans fell just short of the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets by a score of 53-51. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 89th in Ohio, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 13th in Michigan).

Start's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Detroit Country Day, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Start will challenge Ross at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Detroit Country Day, they will square off against Cranbrook Kingswood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
