Basketball Game Preview: Kendrick Tigers vs. Troy Trojans

The Kendrick Tigers will challenge the Troy Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Saturday, Kendrick lost to Prairie on the road by a 55-41 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Kendrick got top-tier performance from Hali Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Anderson's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Hayden Kimberling was another key player, putting up six points and 15 boards.

Even though they lost, Kendrick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.6 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 13.6.

Meanwhile, Troy earned a 55-45 win over Potlatch on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Loggers: they've now won five in a row.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Kendrick, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Everything went Kendrick's way against Troy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Kendrick made off with a 44-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kendrick since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
