West Mesquite's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the Spruce Timberwolves get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Considering the Wranglers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Amberly Cruz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Garza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Avila, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3.
