Baseball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Takes a Loss

Fort Wayne Wayne had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it six. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on Tuesday.

Fort Wayne Wayne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Durnell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

On Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's side, Braden Aguirre was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Wayne will square off against Fort Wayne North Side at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Generals are facing the Legends at the right time seeing as the Legends are stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they will face off against South Bend Saint Joseph at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 2.2, the Huskies 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
