Baseball Game Preview: Pacifica Mariners vs. Norco Cougars

The Pacifica Mariners will take on the Norco Cougars in a tournament on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pacifica is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Centennial. The Mariners narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Huskies 3-1.

Meanwhile, Norco got themselves on the board against Great Oak on Saturday, but Great Oak never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Wolfpack. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Norco got a massive performance out of Jayden Serna, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Serna a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Seward, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Norco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Great Oak only posted a batting average of .048.
