Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes Down Ranked Cedar Falls

On Tuesday, Liberty faced Cedar Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Liberty Lightning narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cedar Falls Tigers 49-46. 49 seems to be a good number for the Lightning as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Cedar Falls, they moved to 12-3 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cedar Falls has also already played their next game, a 49-46 defeat against Iowa City on the 21st.
