Baseball Recap: Chandler Wins Going Away Against Valley Vista

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brophy College Prep, Chandler was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Valley Vista Monsoon as the Chandler Wolves made off with a 14-4 victory. Considering the Wolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Luke Rylee looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Brian Romero was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devan Wilson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Chandler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Vista only posted an OBP of .280.

Chandler's win bumped their record up to 2-4-1. As for Valley Vista, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chandler will venture away from home to square off against Highland at 3:45 p.m. on March 19th. As for Valley Vista, they will head out on the road to take on Skyline at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
