Softball Recap: Bertie Comes Up Short

Bertie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Perquimans Pirates, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 last Tuesday.

Bertie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Perquimans, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Bertie will square off against Southeast Halifax at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perquimans, they will face off against Lawrence Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Perquimans will need to watch out since Lawrence Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups.
