Basketball Recap: Wren Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wren won the last time they faced Westside, and Abijah Franklin did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wren Hurricanes came out on top against the Westside Rams by a score of 61-54 on Friday thanks in part to Franklin, who went 11 for 19 en route to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. The contest was his 17th in a row with at least ten points.

Beau Brannon was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Westside still got an impressive performance from Keemaj Clinkscales, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points. Clinkscales is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kmajay Jenkins, who posted three points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

The win (which was Wren's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. As for Westside, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-4.

Wren didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-58 victory against Woodmont on the 20th. Westside has also already played their next game, a 61-48 win against South Florence on the 20th.
