Preview: Thompson vs. Richland
Thompson will challenge Richland on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes : the MaxPreps national rankings predict a close match.
Thompson took their matchup against Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page last Friday by a conclusive 40-12 score. The Thompson offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Meanwhile, the struggle was real when Richland and Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg clashed, but the former ultimately edged out the latter 30-28.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-0. In their victory, Thompson relied heavily on senior Cadyn Schwabe, who passed for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns; a key strategy for Richland will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
