Basketball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline lost against Cunningham two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Skyline Thunderbirds fell to the Cunningham Wildcats 37-32. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Ashley Spease, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Kodi McComb was another key player, putting up four points.

Even though they lost, Skyline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Cunningham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rylee Miller, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most assists Miller has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Mcguire, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Cunningham, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

Skyline has already played their next game, a 56-28 loss against Norwich on the 17th. As for Cunningham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-37 defeat against Stafford on the 20th.
