Basketball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers vs. Creede Miners

Cripple Creek-Victor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 44-28 bruising from the Creede Miners. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cripple Creek-Victor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Devon Reyes posted eight points.

Creede was led to victory by Jaxson Fazio and Charles Heinrich. Fazio to rack up 19 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds, while Heinrich had six points and three steals. What's more, Fazio also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Creede, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 6-11.

Cripple Creek-Victor has already played their next game, a 64-23 defeat against Fountain Valley on the 20th. As for Creede, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-34 loss against Centennial on the 18th.
