Preview: Seton Catholic Sentinels vs. Saguaro Sabercats
Two dominant guards in Luke Padilla and Justice Hinds are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Seton Catholic Sentinels will head out on the road to face off against the Saguaro Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Seton Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
Seton Catholic posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Arcadia 50-47.
Julian Garcia was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Kj Fauske was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Saguaro suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against St. Mary's, falling 75-46. While losing is never fun, Saguaro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while St. Mary's is ranked seventh).
Seton Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Saguaro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Seton Catholic beat Saguaro 58-46 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
